I turned 31 last month and let me tell you - birthdays are not what they once were.
When you are a mum to a small human no day is ‘just about you’ 😅 Something you may particularly notice on birthdays - especially when you’re woken by an angry, crying toddler at 3am on said birthday 😆
Later in the day a friend sent me a birthday song - which contained a valuable and timely reminder I think we all need. So I’m sharing it with all of you this month 🧡
Because while my birthday was not just about me - it was still wonderful.
Because life is not just good or just bad. No day is just joyful or just unhappy.
Each day is full of moments and each moment is valuable.
Each moment is a gift we can receive.
So if that’s a reminder you need today I highly recommend having a listen to this song:

In Season:
In our northern hemisphere January is a month that’s pretty sparse on seasonal fruits and vegetables. One thing that probably is still doing well is kale.
Which is lucky because kale is one of the vitamin C and iron richest foods you can find. In these dragging, dark winter months we can use all the vitamin C we can get.
Kale is also rich in folate - a vitamin our body needs for optimal energy levels and concentration. It also plays a huge role in fertility.
Keep your eyes out for next month’s email where I will be sharing one of my favourite kale recipes ever.
P.s. if you don’t like cooking with kale try using frozen kale in a smoothie with banana, hemp seeds and coconut milk.
